Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In a shocking development in the RG Kar female doctor murder case, the accused, Sanjay Roy, has confessed to the crime without showing any remorse.
During his interrogation, Roy reportedly expressed a desire to be hanged for his actions. The Kolkata Police, led by Commissioner Vineet Goyal, has been conducting a transparent investigation into the case, with a special investigation team already formed. Despite public outcry and demands for a CBI probe, Commissioner Goyal stated that the Kolkata Police has no objection if the victim's family wishes to seek an investigation by another agency.
The court has taken cognizance of the gravity of the situation and sent the accused to 14-day judicial custody as the probe into whether there was gang-rape or involvement of others continues.
